RC City Council Approves Developer's Plan
On January 21st, the City ratified an amendment that could — and likely will — pave the way for 5,700 to 6,000 new housing units in Rancho Cucamonga. That means motor courts, cottage courts, duplexes, quadplexes, and 12-plexes — a dramatic shift toward high-density housing that concerns us deeply.
The potential impacts are significant: increased traffic congestion, higher risk of accidents, strain on first responders, schools, and medical services — and most critically, a serious public safety question. When our mountains burn — and they will — how do we safely evacuate when an additional 16,000+ residents are added within just two square miles?
